You may or may not know that I have moved to Colorado. It’s where I’m originally from. So I’m home now. At any rate, this will not keep the Photo-Poetic project from growing. We have received a lot of great comments from many of you, and it keeps us inspired.

It’s a great honor to be considered for such an award. The MAMAs is a not-for-profit foundation that uses the proceeds from the awards to help local school music programs. OEM radio presents original electronic music recordings via a Shoutcast™ internet radio station. OEM Radio is a free, zero-profit endeavor. The acclaimed electronic internet radio station, Groovera, has started carrying Photo-Poetic’s music. You’ll find our music on any one of their three radio stations:

Jet City Lounge - fine mix of chilled instrumental future lounge, nu-jazz, groove jazz, downtempo, soft techno, brokenbeat, electro-bossa, deep house, and ambient house, with intermittent vocals.

Ambient Popsicle - An aficionado’s mix of chilled adult alternative pop, future lounge, vocal downtempo, nu-jazz, ambient pop, trip-hop, neo-soul, synth pop, deep house, and a few surprise classics.

Low Mercury - A deeply-chilled mix of instrumental downtempo, soft techno, chill-out, IDM, psybient, illbient, ambient dub, ambient techno, ambient house, nu-jazz, and an occasional vocal track.

Groovera is very well known for their quality streams. We are quite delighted to be a part of it.

So back to the point. The CDs have been printed. We decided to not go with the high end printing that you see on a lot of CDs these days. Adam Blanchard, an artist in Madison, hooked us up with his screen printing studio and we’ve produced some great looking discs! It was such a fun process, that I thought it would be good to share. Completed Photo-Poetic Debut EP Disc in action! Pop it in your CD player!

Now, because of the MANUAL process involved, a few of the CDs didn’t turn out perfect. As a matter of fact, every one of these discs is a bona fide snowflake. We did quite a few experiments too. But we are satisfied: These CDs look wonderful. And there are ONLY 100 of them. After that they are all gone, they’re gone for good. Many of these will be given out as Christmas gifts to our favorite family members, friends, radio stations, and record labels. However, there may be one left over for you. Please let us know if you would like to get your hands on one of these pieces of work.

And if you do get one of these CDs, don’t EVER throw it away! Actually, we would be ecstatic if you ripped this CD, copied it, handed it out to all of your friends, gave the original CD to one of your best friends, and then shared all of the Mp3 files on your favorite P2P network (soulseek, bittorrent, etc.)

But I digress. The CD isn’t QUITE ready to head out the door just yet. We still need to print the inserts for them and get them all packaged up. Be looking for an additional post here in the next week or so.
